The Ministry of Environment aims to deliver exceptional, equitable and accessible client service. To help us achieve this, we set specific goals and listen to your feedback about the service you receive.

Service Standards – Our Commitments to You

The ministry has set standards for the service you can expect when you call our toll-free general inquiry line, or when you request information and service from us in other ways – through our offices, by email, mail or via our web portal.

1-800-567-4224 Service – When you call our general inquiry line during regular business hours, a ministry employee will answer, live, at least 85 per cent of the time. Our goal is for you to get your answer from the first person you speak to but, if we must transfer you, we’ll send you to the right person the first time.

Timeframe for Replies to General inquiries – The ministry aims to respond to inquiries as quickly as possible. If you contact us by phone or in person at one of our offices, we will do our best to respond to your inquiry immediately. If we can’t provide an answer right away, we will respond by phone, email or fax within three business days, or within 10 business days if you would like a response by letter.

Your feedback helps us to do better. If you have feedback about the service you receive, we want to hear your concerns and provide you with a timely response.
