The Saskatchewan resident big game draw is now closed.  Applications and application changes will no longer be accepted.  Results will be available by early to mid July.

Beginning this year, the big game draw will be incorporated into the automated Hunting, Angling and Trapping Licence (HAL) system. Applicants will be required to submit all applications through their HAL web account.

A HAL account is required for all hunters applying for the big game draw. If you are applying with a group, please be aware that each group member’s HAL ID and date of birth must be entered onto the application. Applicants will be able to review their pool status, update submitted applications, look up draw results and purchase draw licences through their account.

If you are a member of the RCMP stationed in Saskatchewan or a member of a regular force of the Canadian Armed Forces stationed or residing in Saskatchewan or were a Saskatchewan resident at the time you were recruited or deployed, ensure that you added your regimental number to your HAL account prior to submitting your big game draw application. Your regimental number must be provided to verify that you qualify for Saskatchewan resident hunting privileges.

All applicants are advised to apply early to familiarize themselves with the new application process and to allow time to resolve any issues that may occur.

After a number of years of closed seasons, pronghorn populations in some zones are recovering and have reached a harvestable level. A small quota is being considered for this fall, depending on the results of July surveys. This survey is timed to determine the annual fawn recruitment and estimate population levels on a wildlife management zone basis.

Applications for a possible pronghorn draw will be accepted and licences will be awarded in a July draw if population levels warrant a harvest. Hunters are reminded that the $4.00 non-refundable application fee will apply. All unsuccessful applicants will advance to the Super A pool.

Information on available zones, tentative quotas and seasons is available in the 2015 Saskatchewan Resident Big Game Draw Supplement. The supplement, as well as other information to assist you with your application is available in the “Related Documents” section below.

You will need to access your HAL account to apply.
